Iraj Anvari

Iraj Anwari

Iraj Anwari was born in December 1321 in Tehran and was considered one of the most prolific graphic artists of this time.  Iraj Anwari is one of the graduates of the Faculty of Decoration in the field of printing and writing (the name of the graphics department in the Faculty of Decoration). After returning to Iran and his former school (Decorating Department), he started teaching and updated the old graphics courses. He has tried to give an identity to the field of graphics and separate it as much as possible from the field of painting, and has added new courses such as illustration, as well as the basics of graphics and painting with more specific syllabi.
One of the most important events in the life of this learned artist was the change of what was known as graphic art for many years and turning it into a matter of research and research that is compatible with the modern structures of the world. Even before these efforts, the art schools themselves still considered painting, graphics or any of the visual arts as an innate and instinctive phenomenon, derived from the state of mind and conditions of a person, but this style gradually changed and due to the efforts of people such as the master artist Iraj Anwari. It became an analyzable method. This caused a specific planning and syllabi to be formulated for the master’s degree in graphics. For the first research project to obtain a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Iraj Anwari plans and studies the social, economic, environmental, and other aspects of Laljin pottery in a group in order to design posters, brochures, or any other promotional items through the information obtained. In 1355, Iraj Anwari returned to France again and started studying for a doctorate course on the subject of semiotic treatment of Persian script, under the supervision of Algirdas Julien Germas, a prominent Lithuanian ethnologist. But after a few years passed due to the severity of Parkinson’s disease, unfortunately he died on June 15, 2016 in Dr. Sepir Hospital in Tehran.
