Hossein Khosrojerdi

Among Khosrowjerdi’s graphic works, we can mention the logo of Hamshahri newspaper, the logo of Islamic Azad University and the Panj network of Tehran, and the famous logo of Deha Fajr. Khosrowjerdi was also active in the field of poster design and received the first prize from the 6th Fajr Film Festival for the design of the poster for the film The Salesman. And the scene design of movies like the actress and another death and the poster design of the Salam Cinema movies, all the temptations of the land, Mohajer and the second and third episodes of Handbazar are among his works in this field. Hossein Khosrowjerdi, along with Habibullah Sadeghi, Kazem Chalipa, Nasser Pelangi, Iraj Eskandari and Teni Chand, are among the famous painters of the revolution who were affiliated to the art field of the Islamic Propaganda Organization. He received the golden tablet and the handwriting of Imam Khomeini (RA) from the Art and Literature Complex of the Holy Defense Week. Hossein Khosrowjerdi played a role in establishing the Institute of Painters of Iran, the Caricature House and the Graphic Designers Association, and in addition, he was a cartoonist for Kihan newspaper for several years and collaborated with publications such as Hemshahri newspaper, Jamia newspaper, etc. He was also responsible for the visual arts department of the art field and cooperated with the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, etc. In addition, if we want to see Khosrowjerdi’s activities at a glance, we can point out the following points about him:

This artist has been engaged in his artistic activity outside Iran for several years and recently an exhibition of his old and new paintings was shown together in a collection in an exhibition in London. He says the following about his migration from his homeland: “I believe that the artist should stay in Iran, and the older he gets, like moving a tree, it is not clear whether he will adapt to the new climate or not, and the stronger he gets, the harder it is to move him.” For several years now, Khosrowjerdi has been depicting his thoughts and ideas about today’s man with the help of computer software, and of course, for display, he digitally prints them in the dimensions of a painting. He called this technique digital painting. He expresses the following opinion about digital painting: “After getting familiar with computer software capabilities, I came to the conclusion that these softwares have the ability to solve the problems I faced in creating paintings. Although I am proficient in designing and executing designs with oil and acrylic paints, in some cases, execution ability and proficiency in painting alone is not the answer, and that tool is very effective in objectifying ideas and imaginations. On the other hand, for me, a The painting took about a year or more due to the sensitivities, and with the help of the software, I could reach the main result in a shorter period of time, and the computer and the Photoshop software somehow speed up the process of visualizing my thoughts. So far, I have presented 23 digital paintings and the first encounters were shocking, especially from the professors whose opinions were very important to me, including Mr. Pakbaz, Aydin Aghdashlo, Gholamhossein Nami, Ehsai and Dr. Sami Azar. From their point of view, it is an interesting collection. Ordinary viewers also communicate and welcome the boards, especially the subject. Of course, most of the paintings have been sold abroad. Some viewers do not know the meaning of digital painting and how to create these paintings, but the aesthetic aspect of these works has attracted them. ” He goes on to introduce himself as a naturalist and says: “My tendency towards new possibilities does not mean that because New Art has proven its dominance over other arts, it must be accepted by force, because I do not believe in artificiality. Rather, everything that exists naturally in humans should be allowed to grow naturally. Therefore, I can say that I am a naturalist because I believe in my own nature and the world around me, and I am also a realist who Naturalism is near.” After emigrating from Iran, he got an opportunity to see the works of world-famous painters up close, these visits became a source of inspiration and revived his passion for painting with paint and brush. He says about this work: “This painting shows that the engine of the family’s flight is the child’s joy, and if the child enjoys the family, it means the family is moving, and when the child is not happy, the family is dead.”
