Mohammad Ali Bani Esadi is a famous Iranian illustrator and painter (born in 1334 in Semnan). He is one of Iran’s academic figures in the field of design and graphics and is also a member of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Tehran University. It should be noted that he was a finalist for the Hans Christian Andersen Prize for Children’s Literature in 2012. The prestige of this award is such that it is called the Little Nobel. In addition to illustrating more than 80 book covers for children and teenagers, Bani Esadi has collaborated with the Center for the Intellectual Development of Children and Teenagers, various magazines and newspapers such as Gol Agha, Kihan Bachaha, and Soroush Tanesh, as well as making several short animations in his work records.

Karim Nasr says in the book “Image, Narration of Text” about Bani Asadi: I have known Bani Asadi for many years. I met him in the universe of children. I saw many others who are known today in the same place, but Bani Asadi was something else: passionate, involved and proud. He was right. He read a lot and was busy. He understood and analyzed drawing and painting well. But for me, a facet of his paintings was undiscovered for a long time. I didn’t know how he organized his visual elements. There was something in his works that took him out of calculation, it was non-calculative. There are elements in his work that you don’t know where they came from. Until. until I went to his house. His room was full of books, magazines, papers, drawing materials and other things, and his ruling place was somewhere in the middle of these things. His room looked a mess, but I was sure he wouldn’t waste a second trying to find what was “lost” in the pile of things. He would quickly summon him and take him to his service, and it was just like his paintings.

Even today, I believe that Benny Esadi will become a full-fledged surrealist, especially when he works with gouache and has the possibility to quickly change his designs and colors. But when he works with paint and oil and in large dimensions, this innovation is not limited to his works. Working with his material such as paint and oil, which you have to wait for several days to dry and put the next color on, disrupts the “unconscious” action, and for someone like Bani Asadi, this time interval is destructive.”
